Applications

Native plants for professional landscapes.

Wildflowers are being used more and more these days to complement and replace traditional designs, especially for green roofs and sustainable urban drainage schemes (SUDS). We can help you choose the correct species for your scheme or assist in biodiversity planning and BREEAM accreditation.

Biodiversity enhancement

Biodiversity can be looked at in two ways.

  1. i.The number of species present in a given area.
  2. ii.The other species attracted as a result.

Species advice

Often wildflowers are under specified and only a small number of species considered.

  • A wider species list

We can help boost this and advise on many more species that can enhance your scheme.

  • Habitat planting

We also have experience in choosing suitable plants for specific insect and mammal habitats.

Green roofs

Green roofs have become incredibly important in recent years. Many designers are now seeing the benefits of wildflower plug-planted green roofs.

The traditional approach

Sedum matting, often from foreign sources.

We now supply many of the large green roof installers with their plant material. MT30 Green Roof is the mixed tray for these projects.

Reed beds and SUDS

A great way of treating grey water is to pass the effluent through a reed bed.

  1. Stage 1

    Effluent

Grey water is passed through the reed bed.

  2. Stage 2

    Uptake

The plants strip nutrients and pollutants, including heavy metals, from the water.

  3. Stage 3

    Discharge

The result is a cleaner discharge.

If the planting schedule is still open, we can help select species for the site, the soil and the accreditation you are working towards.
